It always seems like it, but this weekend in Bangkok is absolutely packed. It’s not just our regular rounds of live music, DJs, and pool parties (but, yes, those too). We’ve also got annual celebrations, leaving parties, and carnivals.
To kick off, we’d be remiss not to mention that everyone who is anyone is going to be at Chilli Fest Saturday—and likely in the bathroom most of Sunday. It’s a big event for everyone in the city who loves spice, which is (checks notes) everyone.
There are some very odd things to do this weekend as well, such as the Viking Boat party on the floating Bangkok Island and beyond as well as the Brazilian Street Carnival at Havana Social.
There’s heavy metal, karaoke, special dinners, poetry and more all headed your way.

Chilli Fest 2026

Oh, yes. It’s back. Is pain a flavor? We think it is. Back once again, Chilli Fest 2026 is returning to Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok for its fourth edition, promising an afternoon-to-evening blowout dedicated to all things fiery, flavour-packed, and fearlessly spicy. Running from 2pm to 9pm, this one-day festival brings together Michelin-recognised chefs and top restaurants for a global tour of chilli-forward dishes, each interpreting heat through their own culinary lens. But, of course, everyone’s favorite event is the chilli eating competition. Tickets here.
Viking Boat Party

Viking isn’t a nationality. It’s a calling. Now, you can gather your jarls, karls, and thralls together for a Nordic banger on the river as The Viking Boat Party returns to Bangkok. Hosted by the Thai-Nordic Association, the event will take place on March 28 on the Chao Phraya River, hosted by the Thai-Nordic Association. For the cosplayers, it’s time to get your leather ready because this is a costume event complete with viking costumes, Nordic flags, and live music. The party kicks off at 4pm on the big day, and will feature a lot more than the usual dress up and tunes. More info here.

Brazilian Street Carnival

It’s that time again. The Brazilian Street Carnival Party is back with free flow drinks from 3-4pm, but this party will go very, very late. Expect Brazilian dance, drums, and DJs to keep you going through the night. More info here.
