French classics meet Northern Thai ingredients in a century-old Lanna manor.

Chiang Mai has a new French bistro serving up the classics
4 September, 2026 Bangkok time

Le Manoir Botanica Dining Room, the destination's signature fine dining experience, will be coming soon.

Chiang Mai is a hot spot on every Thai foodie’s list, with better restaurants coming every year. Now, there’s a venue to get French fare done right with the newly opened Le Manoir Botanica.

Behind the kitchen is Culinary Director Chef Olivier Elzer, a chef whose restaurants have earned a cumulative more than 30 Michelin stars. Here, the philosophy is "Terroir to Table," using Northern Thailand's highland ingredients for exceptional French cuisine.

Menu highlights include French classics with escargot, steak tartare, beef bourguignon, steak frites, and you can top it off with a delectably simple creme brulee with vanilla bean custard. Currently, guests are welcome at Le Bistro to indulge in Chef Elzer’s delights, and there’s plenty more ahead for this elegant space blending Thai and French influences.

Master Sommelier Bertrand Lutaud is serving up  rare labels and global small-production winery selections, and the bar program takes inspiration from the botanical estate’s surroundings — think signature cocktails made with Thai basil, beetroot, and elderflower.

Found in a century-old Lanna manor, Le Manoir Botanica, which includes museum-quality art by Charoon Boonsuan and heritage architecture, is just getting started. On the horizon, Le Manoir Botanica Dining Room will be the destination's signature fine dining experience, hitting Chiang Mai in the coming months, a treat that seats just 18 lucky guests.

The Chiang Mai foodie scene is growing, and this space is sure to keep both locals and travelers interested for years to come.
