Sunrise Tacos has a few branches across town, and there are now other restaurants doing more purely Mexican food. But we'll always have a sweet spot for Sunrise, the first genuinely satisfying Tex-Mex in town. The 24/7 opening hours make it perfect for night crawlers, and Sunrise Tacos mostly remains very solid comfort food. When we’re in the mood for a hearty chew we go for carne asada, chunks of grilled beef; otherwise our top pick is carnitas, juicy pork cooked “for hours” until it’s tender.
