The club scene, to put it mildly, can feel a little crowded in Bangkok, but the new Black Rabbit in Ekkamai, which opened officially earlier this month, is aiming for a space that puts music center stage, seating throughout, and Asian bites on the plate.
They’ve taken the name of the former Black Rabbit Restaurant and Bistro, but that’s all that remains of the old spot. The new venue is much what you might expect from an Ekkamai club, with bright neon reds and blues leading you to the main party area.
Thankfully, there is ample seating at this club (a rare find for a club), but the real treat is the stage where this space is hoping to be another local space for music. Visitors can expect regular tunes from traveling DJs, but they’ve also carved out a space for local musicians.
Tunes from live bands will play Thai favorites and covers, including pop, rock, Tpop, jazz and blues, during the early evening, and a DJ takes over the decks as it gets late.
With a fully stocked bar, this space is also hyping its food, which includes a menu that focuses on Japanese, Thai, and Chinese—along with some fusion options and shared plates for the big parties.
Found on Soi Sukhumvit 63, the new Black Rabbit inhabits a fast-growing nightlife area of the city, found at the confluence of the likes of Tulum Skybar, mainstay Tuba, and the high-end Bar Scofflaws. Is today’s Ekkamai tomorrow’s Thonglor?
