Just in time for Cinco de Mayo.

With new Chinatown location, Cholos opens its third venue in Bangkok
27 April, 2026 Bangkok time

Cholos needs no introduction in Bangkok for anyone who likes Mexican food. Now, they’ve opened their third venue in Bangkok, this time in Chinatown.

Originally coming to Bangkok from Mexican-native chef Eduard González and Chef Radek Zarebinski (who cut their teeth in restaurants like Gaggan and Gaa), Cholos was in many ways one of the first spaces in Bangkok to take Mexican food seriously when they opened in 2020—and it paid off.

The new venue features the LA-style Mexicana vibe the brand’s known for, but with a dash of Chinatown thrown in. You’ll find the new spot at the corner of Yaowarat Road and Yaowarat 27, and you’ll see the first evidence of the Chinese style in the neon sign in the window—with a little Chinese script on the sign. Visitors will find the same vibes inside, along with touches like Chinese lanterns.

On the menu, though, Cholos is sticking to its roots. Expect the classics you’ve come to know like beef birria tacos, and birria tostadas, and chicken tinga burritos. If there is one dish to definitely try at Cholos, it’s the Baja fish tacos.

For those of you keeping track at home, that’s three venues from Cholos open in Bangkok—the food truck on Sukhumvit 12, the Charoenkrung flagship that opened last year, and now Yaowarat. Outside of the city, Cholos stretched their legs to Pattaya last year, opening their first non-Bangkok venue at Again Pattaya Community Mall in June 2025
