5 places for authentic Spanish flavors in Bangkok, certified

Yes, they’re really certified by expert taste buds.

5 places for authentic Spanish flavors in Bangkok, certified
8 September, 2026 Bangkok time

Bangkok is a foodie playground. When it comes to international flavors, the city has most of the world covered, including plenty of Spanish spots.

With so many options, finding the real deal can be tricky. That’s where the Restaurants from Spain seal comes in. It recognizes restaurants that meet strict standards for authentic Spanish cuisine, quality ingredients, genuine recipes, and a true taste of Spain. Here are our picks for Bangkok restaurants that have earned the seal and serve an authentically Spanish experience.

Arroz

Putting rice center stage, Arroz turns a vintage house in Thonglor into a colorful and warmhearted place for a Spanish gastronomic journey. Rice dishes include chickpeas in pork stew and paprika rice, black creamy rice with monkfish cheek, lobster brothy rice, among others. There are also interesting paellas — short-grain rice cooked in a shallow pan — including paella valenciana (paella with chicken, beans, and snails) and wagyu tomahawk paella. However, light bites and meaty offerings, such as boquerones (white anchovies) and chocopo (breaded tenderloin with Iberian ham and cheese), are also must-trys. Certified with the Restaurants from Spain seal, authenticity is never a question here.

El Willy Spanish Kitchen

Famous for its fun vibes that keep people coming back for more, El Willy Spanish Kitchen doesn’t compromise its Spanish culinary roots for authenticity. This beloved restaurant in Ekkamai cooks up dishes and bites under the concept of “sexy tapas,” led by quirky-and-talented chef Guillermo “Willy” Trullas Moreno, with intermittent special events and collaborations celebrating Spanish flavors in cool ways. Available in set menus and à-la-carte selections, expect to try handpicked cured meats, juicy carabinero, showstopping arroz negro paella (black-ink squid rice with mixed seafood), classic gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp), and many other Spanish-Mediterranean fare. Be prepared to be energized physically and mentally.

Taberna Jamon Jamon

Taberna Jamon Jamon is an unfussy Spanish dining spot on Sukhumvit 20 focusing on high-quality cold cuts and classic tapas in a family-run style — homey and true to its origins, alongside a wide selection of Spanish wines. Having run for over a decade, the restaurant features a selection of dishes that are not widely offered in Bangkok, such as morcilla de Burgos (rice-filled blood sausage) have made memorable meals for Spanish food aficionados. Simple yet outstanding are tortilla de patata (Spanish omelet), croquetas de jamon (ham croquettes), ensaladilla (potato salad), and, of course, jamon iberico (Iberian ham).

Taburete

Serving up Catalan-style bites and Mediterranean flavors, Taburete is a rustic, addictive spot for Spanish tapas made with seasonal ingredients. Even though the chef-owner Kannika “Kung” Kongkaew is Thai, having passionately learned her craft in Spain, her culinary delights never lack respect for their roots. She recently won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Spanish Gastronomic Awards 2026. Dishes served here are rather inventive while maintaining heart. Long-time favorites are asparagus with bacon and romesco sauce, empanadilla de cordero (confit lamb wrapped in thin filo pastry), and fideua (short noodles cooked in rich broth with seafood). It’s worth returning to try the ever-changing, limited-time specials. The Restaurants from Spain certification ensures this is a great place to dive into Spanish food culture.

El Tapeo

El Tapeo is led by time-honored traditions in the “taberna” style: warm, informal, buzzing and full of life. The home-cooked-style food is served with mouthwatering presentation, and it tastes as good as it looks, with highlights including pulpo a la brasa (smoky grilled octopus), callos a la Madrilena (Madrid-style beef stew), torreznos (crispy Iberian pork belly), and paella Iberica (rice with artichoke and pork topped with jamón iberico).
