Description

Opened: Jun 2007

The buzz: Secret place in a rundown soi. Inside there is a lively scene in sharp contrast with the building’s exterior and the neighborhood. This is your very own bohemian hangout, complete with a homey design and indie music, without the Kao San backpacker downer.

The décor: Two giant living rooms are decorated in junk art and crowded with plenty of sofas to chill and admire the colorful cutting edge paintings that form the owner’s collection. Outside, there’s a big garden and a “swimming pool” (you’ll need to get pretty drunk to swim in this fountain). If your grandmother was an eccentric artist, this is what her living room would look like: restroom bathed in pink light, aquarium and retro sink by the restrooms.

The music: Indie, rock and a pinch of electronic music played by no one but the computer. If you have an iPod, you’re welcome to plug it in. Live music and a “real” DJ coming soon.

The crowd: Thai and foreign journalists, photographers and painters who love to go crazy, in particular with the help of the green fairy, absinthe.

The price: Beer B70, mixers B20, whiskey B120/glass, cocktails on request B120. Spirits from all around the world and Akvavit, the Norwegian national drink, just in time for Christmas.

Why you’ll come back: You want to party just like they did in Montmartre, 100 years ago—a no-plastic décor, strong drinks and crazy artists.
