It seems a long time since we were paid a visit by a full-on, three-star Michelin chef. Well, from Nov 15-19, Alain Passard of Parisian restaurant L’Arperge will be cooking at La Scala (The Sukhothai, Sathorn Rd., 02-344-8888). No small part of Passard’s fame also comes from his tenure as a challenger on Iron Chef Japan. As for L’Arperge, it’s held on to its three Michelin stars (you can lose them, you know, if you start going downhill) since 1986, and it now has a kitchen garden 260km outside of Paris, where even the use of farm machinery, let alone chemicals, is forbidden. Details for the dinner are forthcoming, but know that the man doesn’t do red meat and that it won’t be cheap.
