Mayrai Padthai

Pad Thai meets natural wine at chef Ton’s latest venture.

Mayrai Padthai
16 January, 2020 Bangkok time

Le Du's chef Ton and his sommelier brother have joined forces for this new wine bar and restaurant. Still in its soft opening stage (Jan, 2020), the venue is located five minutes' walk from MRT Sanam Chai, offering a perfect view of Wat Pho from the second floor terrace.

A far cry from Thai fine dining, Mayrai focuses solely on wines and homemade pad Thai inspired by their grandmother’s recipes. Dim red light sets a moody tone at the counter bar, which is lined with wine bottles marked with their prices. The affordable Mayrai Pad Thai (B79) is made with glass noodles and has a good kick of heat; for something more upscale, you can splash out on the premium Pad Thai Beef Wagyu (B590). Complete your meal with a glass of Maison de G. Chenin Blanc (B200) or Grand Itata Blanco (B290), or ask about the house made ya dong.

There are also plans to turn the upstairs into a chef’s table later in the year, so stay tuned.
