Phra Khanong’s Wasteland is turning into an R&D lab and we’re all invited

And it starts next week.

Phra Khanong’s Wasteland is turning into an R&D lab and we’re all invited
30 June, 2026 Bangkok time

They’ve only been back for about a year now, but award-winning bartender Kitibordee ‘Gov’ Chortubtim and hospitality pro Dharath ‘Tot’ Hoonchamlong came out swinging with everything from bugs to fish bones when Wasteland came back on the cocktail scene in 2025.

Starting next week and running for the next three months, this creative space will be lifting the curtain on their cocktail menu by having “wasteland: BROWSE — Experimental / R&D Sessions” which will turn the bar into an open space for research and development for a new menu.

Starting July 8, a completely new menu drops every week to introduce hyper-experimental craft cocktails for 12 unique menus in 3 months.

If you know Wasteland, you’ll know that these cocktails will feature local and sustainable ingredients, including surplus material and byproducts. If their past drinks are anything to go by, you can expect everything from used crab shells to leftover coffee grounds.

Wasteland is truly singular in the Bangkok cocktail scene. There’s a lot of talk of innovation and sustainability—but let’s face it, that usually means some sort of foam bubble on top and a sprig of rosemary. Wasteland takes big swings. And they land.
