This event is something the artsy folks look forward to every year. Organized by Unzine art magazine, the BKK Comics and Art festival is returning for a fourth event, giving Bangkok a peek into the world of comics, local art, and the publishing world.

A little big festival, a little bit convention, the event takes place at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, where casual patrons can make their way through featured comic, graphic novel, and local artwork on the walls, but more hardcore comic fans will find days of talks and meets.

This year, the “Storytelling in Comics Exhibition” will run from Oct 14-26, featuring both Thai and international comic artists, some of whom will be at their stalls throughout hawking their work.

This year will see Ryuko creator Mangaka Eldo Yoshimizu, Rimui Yumin of The Funeral, as well as artists from India, Indonesia, and more. The event has partnered with the Embassy of Belgium once again for a special presentation of Franco-Belgian comics, with an exhibition from Loo Hui Phang.

The convention on the 5th Floor Hall of BACC, held from Oct 25-26, will feature the basics in learning Clip Studio Paint software with Thai comic book artist Adisak “Das” Pongsampan. Other events include a comic creator discussion panel, all-ages creative workshops, and art auctions.

Registration for the BKK Comics and Art Festival can be made online.
