The Emmy award-winning satire series from HBO, The White Lotus, will be filming its third season in Bangkok, Phuket, and Koh Samui next month, and two Thai actors have joined the ensemble cast.

This Hollywood drama comedy—somewhere between aspirational and “eat-the-rich”—is the creation of Mike White and takes place in the titular luxury hotel chain “The White Lotus.” The first and second seasons were set in Hawaii then Sicily respectively and follow the hoi polloi through and the jealousy, drama, and death they leave in their wake.

The plot of season three hasn’t been revealed, but White has hinted in previous statements that the themes of death, Eastern religion, and spirituality will be in the mix. If the previous seasons are anything to go by, we’ll learn about the death (or deaths) in the first few minutes.

While the exact filming location hasn’t been publicly announced, the first two took place in Four Seasons chains, so the immediate speculation has been on the Four Seasons in Koh Samui and the more recent Four Seasons here in Bangkok. Suspicions were first raised in January of last year, with a video of the show’s writer and creator at a Thailand beach resort.

As for the cast, the third season features the acclaimed actors Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, and the return of Natasha Rothwell who played the fan favorite Belinda, a spa manager strung along by the Tanya character in season one. Sadly, the show’s only other recurring character, Tanya, played by Jennifer Coolidge, (spoilers) will be unlikely to return after her little slip (RIP).

Joining the ranks are two Thai actors who have experience in Hollywood production: Dom Hetrakul from “The Man with the Iron Fist 2” and “Bangkok Dangerous” and Tayme Thapthimthong who began as a contestant on the singing show “Academy Fantasia” and later in Netflix’s “Thai Cave Rescue” and “Skin Trade.”

The show was originally slated for 2024 but was delayed until 2025 due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. White promised to EW that the show would be “longer, bigger, crazier.” We’ll be humming The White Lotus intro in no time.
