The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in collaboration with Paragon Cineplex selects four award-winning films and documentaries to mark World Refugee Day (Jun 20). Screening from Jun 20-22, at Paragon Cineplex (5/F, Siam Paragon, Rama I Rd., BTS Siam). The movies are all subtitled in Thai, and the line-up includes: Sergio (USA, 2009): Winner of the Best Editing (Documentary) award At Sundance, the film portrays the story of Sergio Viera de Mello, a devoted United Nations diplomat, who was killed in the Canal Hotel bombing in Iraq; Moving to Mars (UK, 2007); is the story of two refugee families who spend almost twenty years in a Thai refugee camp before being resettled to the alien city of Sheffield, UK; The Visitor (USA, 2007): When Professor Walter Vale finds a Syrian/Senegalese couple living in his New York apartment, he lets them stay and they change his life; and The Heart of Jenin (Germany, 2008): When his 12-year-old son is shot and killed by Israeli forces, Ismail, a Palestinian living in the Jenin refugee camp, donates his organs which end up saving the lives of four people living in different parts of Israel.
