The European Union is showing 22 films from 16 different EU member states for its film festival running from Jul 6-17, at Bangkok Art and Culture Center (939, Rama I Rd., BTS National Stadium). All films will be subtitled in English. The lineup includes: The Magic Tree (Poland, 2009): An adventure fantasy about furniture made from a magical oak tree; Bank Ban (Hungary, 2002): Adapted from the Hungarian opera of the same name, the film depicts the battle of Endre II in 1213; With Friends Like These (Belgium, 2007): After a few years in New York, Black Kelly returns to his hometown and finds that his relationship with his friends can never be the same; Kooky (Czech Republic, 2010): Ondra, a six-year-old boy, is forced to throw away his teddy bear Kooky, but Kook comes to life and together they go on a fantastic adventure.
