Seventy-eight second short film Ayam Man took home the main prize at the Cathay Motion Picture Awards last night. The comedy, about, ahem, a superhero chicken, beat the 14 other films for the win, including dramas like Pause for Tomorrow and Chasing Tomorrow. Judges like filmmakers Jack Neo and Lee Thean-jeen and film critic Philip Cheah rated the films based on originality, production quality and entertainment value. All 15 shorts will however, only preview next year, where they will be screened before all main feature films at Cathay cineplexes for four weeks.
