After winning a few awards locally, Thai artist Prema Jatukanyaprateep was honored with the Gold Award last month.

Her adorable comic Bokbig, which tells the story of a naughty but cute dog and his intolerable boss, beat out over 200 entries from more than 50 countries.

In a promising sign for Thai manga, it's the second year in a row that the top award has gone to a Thai artist, with Kosin Jeenseekong's taking out the 2013 edition with Listening to the Bell.

Prema’s book is available at Se-ed for B135 or you can order it online at tinyurl.com/pl4tsxy. You can see more of her work on her Facebook page.

The International Manga Award was launched in 2007 to encourage non-Japanese manga artists and promote manga culture around the world.
