Bus transportation is a pain, whether you’re on the bus or driving behind one. But fear not! The age-old mode of mass transport may become a little more delightful for everyone involved. The Ministry of Transportation has announced a plan to eliminate certain small bus routes that compound traffic jams, reducing the total number of routes to 155 (from 209). To compensate, the ministry will add buses on the remaining routes, bringing the number up from 3,900 to 7,700. Uh, doubling the number of buses on the roads sure sounds like a great way to reduce traffic. Of course, we’re sure they know what they’re doing. They claim that the bus travel time for the average person, which is currently a staggering 175 minutes per day, will be just 106 minutes after the plan is implemented. (Unless you live or work on one of the eliminated routes—too bad, suckers!)
