Curve
14 January, 2010 Bangkok time

Opened: November, 2009.

The buzz: After a brief closure for a major facelift, Curve returns to the bustling Ekamai strip with an obligatory alfresco zone, three additional bars and even more curvy architecture and opulent embellishments.

The décor: Still retaining its signature boomerang-form, the revamped Curve sports a black and gold theme with a lot of crescent shapes. The outdoor area, houses stiletto-shaped sofas and what can only be described as daybeds with a hole in them making it a perfect spot for those who dig easy listening tunes and catching up with friends. Head inside and you’ll be greeted with a pool table, the usual low stools and tables, three long bars (no more fighting through the crowd to get a refill), stage and DJ booth. We particularly love the two-story men’s room—urinals downstairs, cubicles upstairs.

The music: The usual dose of Thai and international hits by house DJs and live bands.

The price: Whisky B1,300-1,800, mixers B60, beer B150, cocktails B150-B280.

The crowd: Pretty much anyone, from uni freshmen to late 30 somethings.

Why you’ll come back: Because you loved the old Curve and don’t mind mixed crowds.
