The Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok has had a great year. From yet another successful Chilli Fest to the revamp of Bar.Yard, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok has been at the center of Bangkok life in 2026. And, for Pride, they’re not holding back.
For the sixth time on June 20, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok is putting on the Bangkok Pride Film Festival, a celebration of LGBTQIA+ cinema and culture held at the Grand Studio on the 6th floor. This year, they’re adding something special.
The 6th edition of the Pride Film Festival will be showing four movies on June 20. The first will be Alice Wu’s 2004 film “Saving Face” at 1pm, followed by a 3pm showing of 2015’s “Grandma” starring Lily Tomlin. Then, at 4:40pm, visitors will find the Thai movie “Love of Siam”, the game changing 2007 film that redefined Thai love stories.
Finally, there will be a showing of everyone’s favorite, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”, at 7:40pm—a classic around the world for celebrating sexuality and one of the best live showing experiences for movie lovers.
But, the party is not over, this year Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok has a special addition to their Pride Month celebration: a rooftop party paying a tribute to queer icon Freddie Mercury at the award-winning rooftop bar, Bar.Yard.
The Freddie Mercury experience starts at 7pm, complete with a guest shift by Taipei’s acclaimed To Infinity and Beyond, led by award-winning bartender Mars Chang. As the party continues to 9pm, expect live rock sets from Big Joe and Voodoo Boys, karaoke sessions, and a late-night DJ set by DJ Pegg.
