Some people think Valentine’s Day is great. Other people think it is a godforsaken racket, a cynical, vile scheme, and that the torture and beheading St Valentine received was far too lenient for all the ignoble misery he has caused the human race.
Aw, come on. It’s not that bad. This is Bangkok, after all, so there will be plenty of events for people who don’t care, care too much, or just want to tell this holiday to go away. In any case, you might have trouble getting a table on Saturday night, and that’s where we come in. Check in with us every Friday until the big day, and we’ll be updating you on all the latest.
Here’s to a happy Valentine’s Day, if that’s in the cards for you. If not, may the Whitefriar Street Carmelite Church in Dublin where St Valentine’s bones are kept crumble and rot his remains in a bog.
