Giant Squid

Another Taiwanese junk food craze comes to town.

Hot on the heels of Hot Star's phenomenally popular fried chicken the size of your face, there's a new Taiwanese junk food craze proving size does matter. And this time it's giant, crispy deep-fried squid.

First launched in Taipei in 2012, Giant Squid specializes in fried squid on a stick, in four flavors: original, spicy, paprika and seaweed. The trademark XXL Bombing Squid sets you back B169, while the XL size is priced at B129. For those who don't want to carry a big mollusk around, you can request to have it pre-cut for you or get only the squid arms for B79.

Currently, Giant Squid is only a temporary kiosk. Till Sep 15, it's at CentralWorld's Food Hall, then it will move to Siam Paragon on Sep 29. Follow its Facebook page for more details.
