As its name implies, glo London comes to us from the UK, but you won't find fried faggots and mash on the menu. Instead, this multi-functional venue serves up bistro fare on the second floor, deli and cafe stuff on the ground floor, and a barbecue up top. There's a lounge bar on the third floor. The restaurant has contemporary, pale wood decor, attractive wall decorations with running water, and a menu packed full of comfort food (like chicken tikka masala), salads, pizza and Brit-inspired desserts.

The staff are relaxed and friendly, which is rare in Shanghai restaurants. Special props go to the Hungarian floor manager, who seems like a decent chap. When we visited we tried the asparagus and feta salad for an entree. It came nicely presented with two pieces of crispy garlic bread balanced on greens, decent chunks of feta, grilled asparagus, cucumber and tomato. For mains we went for a salami pizza (oval, not round!) and a chicken tikka masala, which came encased in a bread "bowl" alongside a poppadom, rice and dips. Both mains were tasty and plentiful, with the pizza scoring points both for its flavor and for the personal cutting tool that came attached to the fork with a magnet (we're easily pleased when it comes to cutlery...)

Drinks come from the lounge upstairs, and both the apple martini and original mojito were well up to par.
