The 50, rebranded from World’s 50 Best in September of this year, announced their final restaurant awards for 2026 at an event in Lima, Peru, the first ever held in South America, with big wins for Bangkok.

Bangkok emerged as the biggest winner in Asia at the awards with a total of five wins ranking on the list.

Chief among the picks was Gaggan from Gaggan Anand, which ranked at No.2, beaten only by Asador Etxebarri in Spain. The celebrity chef has been taking home a number of awards for the progressive, molecular Indian cuisine, and even took home the No.1 spot last year for Asia’s 50 Best.

Next up is No.12 with the Southern Thai cuisine at Sorn, which made worldwide headlines in 2024 by becoming the first restaurant in Bangkok to receive three Michelin stars, headed by Chef Supaksorn "Ice" Jongsiri.

Not far behind is the European fare at Sühring clocking in at No.14, which, like Sorn, took home a surprise third star at the Michelin awards last year.

Next up is Nusara at No.18. Since reopening to its new space in 2023 with a view of Wat Pho, this spot from Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn has risen from its spot at No.35 last year.

Last but certainly not least is Potong, a BK Magazine favorite, which rounded out the list at No.32, a drop from last year’s No.13 ranking. Chef Pam is Bangkok’s own superstar chef, and recently debuted on MasterChef Asia on Netflix.

Not seen on the top 50 this year is Le Du, which ranked on the list last year at No.30. Sliding onto the 51-100 list at No.74. No new restaurants or previously unrecognized restaurants made The 50 this year.
