Movies on Design kicks off in Bangkok today—watch all the trailers

Film fans and design devotees rejoice as the Movies on Design screenings return this week at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC). Held as part of Bangkok Design Festival 2014, the event screens five feature documentaries about design and creativity, containing renowned designers, thinkers and critics from May 20-29. The program is as follows:

Life Architecturally (May 20, 22, 28)
Britt Arthur’s documentary follows globally renowned designer couple Robert McBride and Debbie Ryan, exploring the inspirations behind their work, including the spiral-shaped Klein Bottle house.

Diller Scofidio + Renfro: Reimagining Lincoln Center and The High Line (May 21, 22, 27)
Muffie Dunn and Tom Piper document the reimagining of two significant urban projects by the famed interdisciplinary design studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro.

Cartoon College (May 21, 28)
This fast-paced documentary follows The Center for Cartoon Studies’ new graduates and their career journeys, which are not always comical, featuring big names like Chris Ware, Lynda Barry, Art Spiegelman and Francoise Mouly.

Marina Abramovic: The Artist is Present (May 22, 29)
While preparing for what might be the most significant work of her life, a retrospective exhibition at New York’s The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), Serbian performance artist Marina Abramovic looks to define the art  inside her head.

From Nothing, Something: A Documentary on The Creative Process (May 21, 27, 29)
Explore the thought processes of various thinkers including fashion designer Alexa Adams, comedian Maria Bamford, cartoonist Steve Breen, chef Susan Feniger and composer Jay Greenberg.
