A big event for the city’s book lovers (and people who just like being in Neilson Hays Library), the Neilson Hays Library Bi-Annual Book Sale returns this May for a nine-day stint of books, books, and more books.
Going from May 16-24, visitors can expect thousands of pre-loved books and former library books in English and Thai, but there are also selections of DVDs and magazines.
Prices for books start at just B20, and it will pay to go more than one day, because as the books come off the shelves, more will take their place throughout the nine-day event.
All proceeds from the book sale will go into the maintenance and preservation of Neilson Hays Library, a staple of Bangkok architecture since 1869, designed by Italian architect Mario Tamagno as a memorial to Jennie Neilson Hays.
Each day, the event will be open from 9:30am-5pm and is open to all. Regular visitors to the library should be reminded that regular library activities will be on hold during the event period, other than the weekly Children’s Story Time.
