In Bangkok for a festive holiday weekend? Here’s a plan.
22 December, 2025 Bangkok time

Bangkok during the holiday season is festive, fun, delicious and wild. Who wouldn’t want to be in the big Mango for this. But, obviously, there are a lot of things competing for your attention—from big club openings and guest chefs to fireworks. For a low-key, chill, but very festive weekend away in Bangkok, here are four ideas to keep you going.

For Family Shopping: Festive Moments at Velaa Sindhorn Village

All the way through the festive holidays and beyond, from now until Jan 4, Velaa Sindhorn will be awash in all manner of Christmas-y and New Year treats. There are a lot of malls and shopping areas in Bangkok that are well worth your time, but what’s great about Velaa Sindhorn Village is that it’s great for families. It’s got an expansive, airy atmosphere to it. Throughout the holiday season, though, you’ll find choir performances, live music, free holiday-themed workshops, and, of course, Santa.

For Festive Food and Tequila: Takeover with Patrón at VASO

VASO is a long-time favorite for Bangkok locals and the jetset alike. But, through New Year’s Day, it’s not just about the food, it’s about the tequila. Patron will be collaborating with VASO, complete with plenty of festive trimmings and dishes. If you’re more of a foodie, you’ll want to know they have a dishes like the seasonal oyster with crudo, duck terrine and truffle, and seafood Fideuà—which you can top off with some Patrón XO Cheesecake

If you’re more into the tequila from Patron, they have four special cocktails, the Frosted Silver Margarita, Añejo Winter Old Fashioned, Silver Holiday Royale, and Snowy Starlight

Sangria. Or, you can really splash out and get the Patrón El Alto experience, where you get all four cocktails and get a complimentary mini of Patrón El Alto (something you can’t get in the liquor stores.

For a Quick Beach Getaway: Jaras Hua Hin: The Feast of Art

Both of those first events are quite nearby one another, but this one takes you to the beach (because who comes to Thailand and doesn’t go to the beach?). The Feast of Art by Jaras Hua Hin at InterContinental Hua Hin Resort is Led by Chef Chumpol Jangprai, Thailandʼs acclaimed two-Michelin-starred chef, alongside Chef Et Pantit Jindajitawat. Available through the end of 2025, this four-hands chef’s table marks the start of a new seasonal menu, and the perfect excuse to make the three-hour drive to Hua Hin on your Bangkok jaunt.

For that Perfect Last Moment: The Opening of ÆTHER

Nothing says Bangkok like that perfect rooftop bar, and you’re arriving just in time to catch the all-new ÆTHER. It’s everything: fresh, cool, stylish—a great note to end your Bangkok trip. This place boasts serious mixology pedigree, with a Rabbit Hole alum behind the bar.
