It’s difficult to explain how a venue that has only been around since 2023 has been so important to the Bangkok live music scene. It’s a small venue, slightly out of the way, but it’s been a platform for the city’s inspiring young artists—a place where Bangkok music is made.
Last week, Noise House Lat Phrao announced on social media that they would be closing the venue at the end of March.
“From the day it began, Noise House has always believed in being a creative space for everyone. Without the support from all sides, artists, staff, collaborators, and every single audience member, the venue could not have come this far, even for what may seem like a brief two-year journey,” the announcement on social media read.
The venue will be operating as usual through March 31, meaning there is still time for new artists to take the small stage at this venue. Upcoming events for the closing venue include Umezu & Friends and the Gen Z Quartet tomorrow and Rock in Peace—featuring Thai favorites Aliens on Earth, Selassie's Tai Sound System, and Grave Train—on Feb 21.
It wasn’t just smaller acts either, Noise House Lat Phrao hosted some surprising out of town acts that were often featured on BK’s weekend and concert roundups. And, it wasn't just music; this community focused spot had movies, karaoke, dance, and art pass through their space. They’ll no doubt be missed when the doors finally close on March 31.
For the live music scene, it’s another gut punch. Community mainstay Studio Lam announced last month that they would be closing in February after 12 years of tunes.
