British menswear label Hackett stands for a weird mix of London heritage and football hooliganism—one of a list of brands that became the unofficial uniform of terrace thugs during the Noughties.

Now though it has turned up in Bangkok with its very own boutique in Siam Discovery, complete with the latest main Hackett London line and more premium Mayfair line.

The short-cut, mod-style jacket (B11,100) and slim-leg, wide-cuff pants (B5,800) of the main line have an unassuming presence we really love, while the slouchy, window-pane check suits (B26,400) of the pricier Mayfair line are also hard not to like.

Simple, unpretentious but assertive, this is the kind of menswear worth fighting for.
