BK Magazine continues the “Beyond the Lobby” video series with Warisa “Natty” Neranartkomol, this time to the fresh KROMO hotel for a little insider information on the beating heart of the Sukhumvit.
A Le Clef d’Or (or Golden Keys) Concierge is an international award for the best concierges in the business—look for the twin gold key pins on their lapel. If you see that, you’re talking to someone who really knows the neighborhood. Khun Nas is such a “Golden Key” holder, and knowing the Sukhumvit is his trade at the luxury KROMO between Asoke and Phrom Phong.
Phrom Phong has a wealth of Japanese culture and cuisine, and Khun Nas has some tips for the Phrom Phong goer, in particular the Yunomori onsen, a calming, traditional spot that’s open until midnight. Those looking for proper Thai food, Khun Nas says, are directed to Baan Ice, a classic Bangkok staple of Southern cuisine.
“When I miss my home, I always go to this restaurant,” Khun Nas tells BK. “It always reminds me of my mom’s recipes.”
KROMO itself, a novel addition to the city, has its own treats to try on offer, including a fashion-forward cocktail menu at the Colette, but, Khuk Nas says, don’t forget to try the truffle fries. This space is awash in elegant touches and historic design, and it’s really making a mark on the Sukhumvit scene.
