Phuket’s ever-improving old town has attracted a big-name international hotel brand away from the beach for the first time.
Novotel Phuket Phokeethra (076-/397-777, goo.gl/T6rdJb) opened its doors on Oct 1, taking up residence in what was the old Thaworn Hotel with 180 newly decked-out, modern and bright rooms.
Steer yourself away from Phuket Town’s delicious local cuisine for a moment and you’ll also find the Sky Lounge, which brings a touch of speakeasy-like elegance to the area, complete with panoramic views of the town, the bay and the mountains.
Room rates start from B3,450 and go to B23,450 for the Presidential Suite.
