Description

A new sophisticated nightspot just popped up on the Sukhumvit strip, which anyone would think is just a part of the posh hotel it’s attached to. Dah! Wrong. BarSu might share the building with the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, but you won’t find “++” following their prices. With its concept of “eat play dance,” this bar has one-stop-service for all night crawlers. BarSu is decked out in a contemporary, elegant, yet casual decor with a super friendly staff that surprisingly can point out for you what’s good to eat and drink—and not just the most expensive things on the menu. Once you step inside, wow number one. The hall is a large circular area with cozy couches lining the periphery. Head to one of these to have a quiet conversation. A small dance floor with standing tables is on the left side of the room by the DJ booth. Movers and groovers will want to head in this direction. A two stars Michelin chef designed the menu at BarSu, and you may find the food quite different from the fare at other pubs, clubs or even hotel bars. Most of them look to be finger food and too small but give it a try. Wow (number two), you’ll soon find, is that it sure does fulfill your tummy. Also on offer are a number of unique, tasty and fun cocktails (B270-350). If you’re there with some friends, opt for a bottle of Balentine (B2,200) or Black Label (B3,200) and get free mixers. The final wow factor is that you will find no hip hop, trance, or house tunes here. This particular venue plays only stylish soul, funk, rock and world music by Mr. DJ. The target group for this bar is an upmarket Thai crowd and it sure does meet all the right aspects to be on the top of the list for your next night out. Hope it receives a warm welcome from other partiers and they keep the fun-loving vibe going.
