As the name suggests, the focus here is on teaching. Students are divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Beginners will pay B2,500-3,000 for four classes. If you already know how to play, the Academy’s five hardcourts are also open to non-students. The fee is B100 per day (B150 after 6pm.)

Chulalongkorn University Sport Center
There are 10 hardcourts, which are technically open to non-members at 7pm, but it’s a lottery system. Court fee is B30 per person plus B40/hour for electricity. It’s better to join for B1,000/month or B5,000/year, so you can play whenever you want for free. Lessons: B3,750 for 10 hours. Racket rental: B30/hour.

Lumpini Youth Center
Pay B40 a year and get use of two outdoor courts for B35/hour. Bookings are same-day, starting at 10am. Bonus: Your membership covers other activities such as indoor football, ballroom dance and swimming. (Note that some have an additional charge.)

The Olympic Club
The Olympic has two grass courts as part of their enormous and comprehensive fitness center. A one-day pass, which includes access to other facilities like the gym and pool, is B550, and use of the tennis courts will cost you another
B100/hour (B150 after 6pm.) One-week advance booking for members; one day for non-members. Membership is B26,250 for 14 months. Deal: Through June 30, pay for one hour and get the second hour free before 5pm. Racket rental: B50. Free balls.
