While grand renovations are under way to turn the decade-old Sheraton Grande Laguna into a new resort, Angsana Laguna Phuket (Laguna Phuket, Bangtao Beach, 076-324-101), the wrapping has already come off the island’s largest beach club, Xana Beach Club, which is managed by the Singapore-based Attica Group. The club features a 35-meter swim-up bar overlooking Bangtao beach, hugged by sofas, daybeds and cabanas. Minimum spends (not yet finalized) are expected of guests who wish to use the facilities, even infants, as they do not encourage the presence of small children.
