Siam Paragon, and its owners The Mall Group, are going hard in the paint on sports goods. Just last week, they launched a completely revamped and renovated Sports Mall (the group’s line of athleticwear stores). This is just one phase of a B500 million campaign to renovate and relaunch the brand’s sports stores.
Might not win any awards for the name, but the product selection here is outstanding. It’s meant to be a one-stop-shop for athletic wear and sports lifestyle products and really feels like it. There’s over 5,000-sq-m of shopping space here, packed wall-to-wall with over 200 different brands, including all the majors you expect—Adidas, Nike, Under Armour, Rev Runnr, Puma, Skechers, Converse, Reebok, Champion, New Balance, Fila, The North Face, Columbia.
A handful of those brands have purpose-built spaces on the inside. Adidas has opened the “Adidas Center” to stockpile a huge selection of performance and Originals shoes. REV RUNNR opened its Professional Running Shop, meant to be a place for avid joggers to gear up before marathons or find collectible runners. There is also a Customized Service Zone by a company called Brother GTX that lets you make your own t-shirt designs using super-fast digital printers. Nike has launched a redesigned concept store, mostly to incorporate a larger selection of shoes from more lines.
So in general, you’re going to have more products to choose from than ever before. If you are a big fan of athleisure or straight-up workout gear, this is good news.
