Capella Bangkok’s head sommelier Thanakorn “Jay” Bottorff has selected eight Tête de Cuvée champagnes—meaning the top of the range of a specific house or grower—to try for one night only on Sep 29.

 

Since these are the champagnes found only in the world’s top restaurants, the prices match at B16,000 for the drinks and pairing with nine courses of French cuisine at Côte by Mauro Colagreco by Chef Davide Garavaglia for an extra B6,500.

 

Highlights include a 2008 Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill, known for its richness of ripe fruit and a dominance of Pinot Noir; a 2007 Bollinger RD known for its distinct intensity, maturity, and depth; and a 2007 Ruinart Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs which starts refined and smooth and then a thrilling and enigmatic intensity of green citrus and grapefruit after the first sip.
