Found at Empire Tower between Chong Nonsi and St Louis BTS stations, Shiko Udon Bar expanded from its Langsuan and Silom branches with a new spot in Sathorn late last month for its biggest store yet.

With minimalist design and creative udon mashups from Chef Watanabe, Shiko Udon Bar has branches in Silom and Langsuan, and the newest iteration at Empire Tower features all the Kishimen-style udon their loyal customers love.

Nagoya and Kishimen-style noodles are flat rather than round, and this shop brings the udon for the office crowd with a number of creative options, including a number of Western-style mashup dishes. You’ll find the likes of wagyu beef hot udon (B549 / regular) and Kurobuta seasonal truffle hot udon (B579 / regular) for the big ticket items, but you’ll also find a little pork bolognese udon (B289), as well as carbonara udon with braised pork belly (B349) and bacon aglio olio udon (B249). Cold udon lovers will find dozens of options, and there are also kitschy touches like the truffle katsu.

Open early at 7am, this brand is also pretty well known for its breakfast—complete with a build your own breakfast option and a matcha bar starting at B139 for the classic matcha latte. And for those looking to wind down, there are bottles of sake starting at B599 and craft beer from Brewdog Punk (B299).

Empire Tower is known for big crowds of office workers, and the space is bright, sleek and bathed in the natural light of the ground floor, with long tables running down the center and booths for window-side dining.
