Perched right on the river, Tsai Eatery is one of Thonburi’s latest Instagram hotspot for sunsets and silly snaps, opening in November last year. The brainchild of a group that includes the folks behind the B Story fashion label, the cafe features a glass-encased, olive green-painted building designed in Thai-Islamic style filled with vintage items ideal for a quick. The structure is surrounded by a native banyan tree shading an outdoor patio where crowds come to take selfies and down fusion-y dishes.

"At first, I wanted to make a cottage for friends to have some coffee. Then, COVID-19 came, so my friends and I decided to make this a business where people can drink, eat, and chill," says Vollov Paobunprung, 48, co-owner.

Some of the standouts on the menu are the green curry with chicken and crispy roti (B220), striploin steak with nam jim jaew (B350), and grilled sea bass with dill cream sauce (B350), but there are lots of cafe drinks and sweets if you’re looking for lighter bites—think banana shakes (B145), tsai coffee (white malt and honey, B120), coconut coffee (B145), vanilla crepes, and mocha cakes (B145/slice), and smoothies like the b-yellow c+ (passion fruit and pineapple, B145).

380 Somdet Chao Phraya Rd., 097-178-1378. Open Mon-Thu 11am-10pm, Fri-Sun 10am-10pm.
