Bean & Us

Forget the coffee craze: here comes a soy milk café with the requisite hipster decor. Bean & Us claims their recipe is positively ancient, passed down from their parents who sold soy milk for three decades. Choose from regular soy milk (B45), the hot chocolate version, or desserts like the soy milk ice cream (B65). The café, which features black steel panels and pale wooden furniture, is already proving popular among bike riders in the area.

Veganerie

Owned by a few vegan activists, Veganerie is very strict about using dairy-free and egg-free products. And you know what? It’s still darn good, particularly the carrot cake (B85 or B450 for a pound) or chocolate chip soft baked cookie (B45), and they use less sugar to boot. Gluten-free products, such as the strawberry and kiwi shortcake, are also available. Order online or find out when they’ll next be at the Bangkok’s Farmer Market.

Poptales

You’ll have to wait another two months for this ice cream parlor, which is already popular from its stall at the Bangkok Farmer’s Markets, to open its first branch in Rama 4 (Mahasin Apt., across Lotus) and bring us a more regular fix of its delicious non-dairy ice cream. They’ll also be rolling out new flavors like tropical mango and berries.
