What's this, a fashion cafe worth eating at?!

Tucked at the back of an achingly hip fashion boutique, the space epitomizes minimal loft style, while English chef Davina Pickering turns out a solid menu of pastas, salads and pancakes. The berry cream cheese French toast balances sweet and savory just right with Italian sausage, crispy bacon and scrambled eggs making for a bona-fide stomach filler.

This secret brunch spot in the heart of Siam Square is well worth the trek up three flights of stairs. Occupying one corner of a fashion boutique of the same name, the unfinished-looking space epitomizes minimal loft style, with seating for just 20 people on a motley collection of sofas draped in black dust covers and flea market dining chairs.

English chef Davina Pickering helms the kitchen, and has been turning out a consistently reliable menu of pastas, salads and pancakes for about the past three years now. Though the one-page menu has much of the usual savory-meets-sweet comfort staples, the food here really is a cut above most brunch places in town.

The berry cream cheese French toast (B370), for example, gets the flavors just right, with subtly sweet toast and a thin layer of cream and mixed berry jam that balances out the saltiness of the accompanying Italian sausage, crispy bacon and parsley scrambled eggs. The maple nutmeg butter pancake (B350) is equally comforting, topped with a slice of pumpkin, Italian sausage, baked beans, a lava egg and a side of creamy pesto sauce. The warm milk-poached salmon fish cake (B450) is another star dish, packed with fresh fish and sitting on a delightful citrus quinoa tomato herb salad, topped with breaded onion rings and a well-matched horseradish-and-caper mayonnaise.

On the dessert side, the warm rum chocolate brownie and cream shot (B160) is a gooey, dark, chocolate-y heaven, only bettered by the ice-cold melted bittersweet chocolate drink with chocolate ice cubes (B130). The staff, dressed in sultry cat-walk outfits, give off a suitably fashionista vibe, but they’re nonetheless very friendly. All this makes for one of the Siam area’s star brunch spots.
