Mickey’s Diner

This classic diner will take you on a trip to the U.S., in all its no-fuss, greasy breakfast glory.

Helmed by Chalee Kader of 100 Mahaseth, Mickey’s takes over what used to be the Beer Bridge at the Portico building. The large space is now decked out with retro-red dining booths, a graffiti-splattered wall, and two big screens overlooking the counter seating. The menu, meanwhile, is inspired by Kader’s time in San Francisco and is a mash-up of classics like eggs Benedict (B360), tuna melts (B320), fried chicken and waffles (B390), Cobb salads (B390), and buffalo wings (B170).

The all-day breakfast menu includes specials like the giant Mickey’s breakfast (B390), which comes with eggs any way you like, Canadian bacon, home fries, a sausage patty, and French toast with maple syrup; corned beef hash (B290) served with eggs and sourdough toast; and the deeply American biscuits and gravy (B120), featuring chunky, meaty gravy slathered over freshly made biscuits.

Other options include the New England clam chowder (B250)—pro tip: order a biscuit on the side for dipping—and the Bay Area favorite, the cioppino (B550), a hearty, Italian-American seafood stew served with bread.

For dessert, dig into homemade pecan pie with vanilla ice cream (B190) or the apple tarte tatin (B170).
