BANGKOK RESTAURANT

Ippudo (Silom Complex)

The Japanese ramen chain continues its takeover of Bangkok with branch #4.

Ippudo continues its takeover of Bangkok with branch #4.

Following previous openings in luxury malls like Central Embassy and Emporium, the Japanese ramen chain recently expanded to bustling Central Pinklao and now the small yet always busy Silom Complex.

As per usual, diners can expect three-time TV Champion chef Shigemi Kawahara's three versions of hearty Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen—the traditional and delicate Shiromaru Motoaji (B200), the intense miso-and-garlic-flavored Akamaru Shinaji (B220), and the spicy Karaka-men (B220)—as well as other treats like the delicious pork belly bun (B80).

Of course, Silom has no shortage of ramen contenders. Legions of Japanese restaurants crowd Soi Thaniya (along with ladies loitering in front of hostess bars and inebriated salarymen). Get acquianted with some here, and also check out our guide to the best tonkotsu ramen restaurants in Bangkok.
