The buzz: Sharing is caring. The people behind Bed Supperclub bring communal dining to the posh. The focus of this restaurant is the namesake table, 24 meters long and seating 44 people—supposedly, the longest in town.

The décor: Posh minimalism. Apart from the table, the second most striking element is the view of Bangkok’s skyline. Both sides of the dining room are lined by trademark Bed seating, while screens tuned to video art bring the requisite touch of edginess. The balcony outside is perfect for smokers and also the one place where you can really enjoy the view.

The cuisine: Contemporary Thai. The presentation is artful and the food is designed for the Western palate, although not to the point of putting off Thai diners. Try their grilled Australian beef rib eye with jaew. Or if you want some freshness, opt for the tuna and octopus capriccio (sic) with sesame vinaigrette. For a straightforward Thai dish, taste the chicken with cashew nut. For dessert, try their mango with sticky rice.

The crowd: Bed without the people who get in for free. Khunyings will have to share their table with young hipsters, white-collar workers and beautiful people—can they handle it?

The booze: An extensive selection of wines ranging from a Australian Seppelt Stony Peck Brut Reserve to a bottle of French Chateau Margaux 1985. The usual cocktails are served but opt for the Long Tails.

Why you’ll come back: Because you just are that chic.

Corkage charge B1,500 (wine), B2,500 (spirits).
