Toma Y Toma, the new spot from the folks behind Sarnies and F*nkytown, is now open on Sukhumvit Soi 22

If there’s one thing you can say about both the dining and nightlife scene in Bangkok, it’s this: Sarnies doesn’t miss.

Not content with taking over the realm of coffee and high-end bites, the minds behind Sarnies moved into the nightlife sphere in 2023 with F*nkytown, earning them awards for their drinks and dedicated fans from the vibes. Yesterday, they opened a new spot, Toma y Toma, right where Sarnies fans want it: on Sukhumvit 22 between Sarnies Cantina and Carito’s.

This new venue is a Latin-inspired cocktail bar emphasizing both food and drinks, making it a pre-game spot to put on your list. Expect it to be big on flavors, and light on the ceremony.

As one might expect, the crew from F*nkytown are behind the bar program, a menu bringing Latin flavors with signature cocktails such as the plum and guava pisco sour based Guayabazo Sour and the Maracuya Colada, a drink mixing passionfruit, mango, pineapple, coconut, and lime.

But it’s not just a drink hangout, of course. This is the Sarnies brand, after all. You’ll find some reasonably priced bar bites like the tigre mussel croquetas, complete with New Zealand mussel mouse, bechamel, tiger prawns, anchovies, potatoes, and smoked tomato chimichurri.

There’s also a pretty cute little promotion they’re running right now for you gamblers out there. A roll of the dice could comp your meal—but you’ll need to head down there yourself to try your luck.

Sarnies, from the Singaporean/Aussie cafe Sarnies Group, has successfully colonized Bangkok’s coffee and brunch scene; it's become a bit of a marker for "cool" neighborhoods. This is a good addition for this part of town, which is booming with good spots. Here, you can barhop to venues like Blueprint Livehouse and Baccarat but still have spaces like the new Toma Y Toma to chill.
