BANGKOK BAR

Bangkok Bistro Riverfront

The buzz: Behind the huge soon-to-open community mall, Asiatique The Riverfront, Bangkok Bistro Riverfront brings you another chill outdoor hangout at the restored historical pier, originally built during the reign of King Rama V. And check it out quick, because this spot is only open until the beginning of March. Many activities like chef workshops and wine tastings are also on offer.

The décor: Even though the place lasts for only three months, there is more effort in the decor than other riverside establishments— industrial, chic black steel with wooden box stools. Thanks to its 300-meter-long riverside area, you can definitely expect a relaxed ambience.

The music: Live bands covering Popsanova play every night. Otherwise, check the weekly schedule for performances by famous Thai bands like Room 39, Singto Numchoke and Pod Moderndog.

The price: There’s a well-categorized list of drinks you can choose from, and thanks to their Beer & Wine Fest, you can indulge in more than 400 brands of beer and wine from Bangkok Beer and Uncorked Wine Club. Imported beers like London Pride, Paulaner, Krombacher, and Leffe range from B200-B250, but local beer Chang (B180/500) and signature cocktails like Breezy (white wine, fresh pineapple, amaretto and white mint, B200) and Plearn (rose wine and strawberry, B200) are available, too.

The crowd: Due to the unfinished construction work on the Asiatique The Riverfront, Bangkok Bistro Riverfront’s weekdays are not that busy. But come at the end of the week to spot some office workers from the Silom area and some giddy couples basking in the view.

Why you’ll come back: To enjoy the romantic river breeze with sunset and candles. Don’t forget to drop by their indie market. Pieng-or Mongkolkumnuankhet
