Look, there are a lot of music and dance events in Bangkok—like, a lot. But this is an honest-to-god party. It’s a must for hip-hop fans, lovers of dance, and absolute catnip for photographers, because this is an action-fueled, competitive, wild event that’s pulled straight out of a movie.

This will be the fourth edition of BadVibes Battle, a competition that will see competitors from around the world compete in a hip-hop dance battle to the very last person standing. And, if you’re imagining a reality TV show-style, tedious, you are very wrong.

Though it’s all obviously part of the show, these dancers taunt, flaunt, and get absolutely wild, surrounded by a crowd of rowdy fans pulled right out of Breakin (and, to a lesser extent, Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo).

Held from Oct 24-27, this year’s event will feature competitors from Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, China, India, and more, all there to celebrate hip-hop culture and ostensibly repair the damage done by Raygun.

Attendees can expect dance battles, including hip-hop, house, and crew battles, all judged by professional judges, but there will also be a theater night, workshops, and panels throughout the event.

BadVibes was preceded by qualifiers from India to Vietnam, and the October 26 finals will decide the winner, but the whole event is jam-packed with events from a khanom and chill session to afterparties.

BadVibes launched in 2022 by dance collective Thrixept, and tickets are now available for all events.
