Art resource center The Reading Room teams up with Arthub Asia to screen selections of influential Chinese artist Zhang Peili's video works from the 80s until the recent years. The event is set for May 2, from 6:30pm, at The Reading Room (2 Silom Soi 19, 02-635-3674, 089-666-7978. Open Wed-Sun 1-7pm. www.readingroombkk.org) as part of Peili's presentation at the Jim Thompson Art Center on the occasion of his participation in Survival Techniques, a group exhibition at The Art Center at Chulalongkorn University.

One of the China's pioneering video artist, Zhang Peili was the first Chinese artist to create a video art work back in the 80s. His works is known for acerbic social and political commentaries. Want to find out more about the artist? Check out his interview here.
