ART:Turning Tweets Pulse

Part of the Japan Foundation's project "Run & Learn: New Curatorial Constellations," a development program aiming to promote contemporary art, this exhibition at BACC, curated by Kamonpond Eiko Wongcharoenchai, features the work of local artists. Talk with the artists and curator on Feb 7 at 1pm. Closing party on Feb 10 at 7pm.

NIGHTLIFE: Tech-Noir feat. Henrik Bergqvist

Glow's monthly Tech-Noir series takes place on the first Thursday of every month. February's event features Swedish guest DJ Henrik Bergqvist, who will be supported by The Outsider. Check out his mix for Berns nightclub, Stockholm above.

ART/GIG: What Where When Why

It’s always a good time to pay a visit to The Jam Factory, but this week in particular sees the welcoming of a new black and white photography exhibition on Feb 6, followed by two gigs. On Feb 7, Stoondio launches their new album, Plural, and on Feb 8 Maziru x Dood brings together local indie groups, with an adhoc Bangkok Farmers’ Market also on-site. Pack your pillows.

SALES & FAIRS: Bangkok Farmers' Market @ Siam Square One

The popular weekend farmers' market moves to its latest venue, promising the usual parade of organic goods, pop-up food vendors, artisanal products for the market/healthy-living enthusiasts of Bangkok. Connected to exit 4 of BTS Siam.

COMEDY: Ardrake - King of the World

Drew McCreadie presents his new comedy, with support from professional British film/stage actor Duncan Foster. One free drink when purchased in advance.

The UK reggae dancehall DJ headlines at Studio Lam this Friday night (check out his collaboration with Part2Style in the video above), with special dub support by DJs Maft Sai and Ga-Pi. B400 gets you 2 free draft beers.

OUT OF TOWN: Bonanza x Cheezecarbootsale

Big Mountain it ain’t, but this Feb 7-8, Bonanza x Cheezecarbootsale will transform a patch of Khao Yai into a festival-style car boot sale. Join the fashion crowd in getting close to nature, only with all Bangkok’s most-happening food trucks and pop-ups close at hand, plus some familiar indie pop bands to set the scene.

SPORTS: MRC Bangkok - 2nd Run

Burn some calories before the last day of Bangkok Beer Week by joining the bar's running club for its second event, with a choice between long and short routes. House pilsner for all participants following the run.

TALKS: Valerio Olgiati/A Lecture

Swiss architect Valerio Olgiati has turned plenty of heads with his minimalist, some would say austere, buildings like the Plantahof Auditorium in Landquart. On Feb 7, the architect, who’s currently the Kenzo Tange Chair at Harvard, will give a talk as part of Valerio Olgiati/A Lecture at BACC. The lecture begins at 1pm, but we suggest you head there early as we don’t think an architectural talk has been this oversubscribed for quite some time.

FOODIE EVENT: #SaturdaySocialClub

The new branch of Rocket at Piman 49 presents bite-sized Scandinavian classics like Toast Skagen and Gravlax on Dark Rye, and a DIY cocktail session with cocktail-making kits, or have them made by house mixologists table side. There will also be DJs playing chill out tunes from 5pm till 11pm.

GIG: Youngsing Music Art Exhibition

From 4pm onwards, the Charoenakorn outdoor beer establishment Camp hosts music/art event, featuring a local lineup of Fits, The Layers, The drink hang drunks, April Skeleton band, The Sangsom Massacre, Brown Flying Beer and Toon Camp. There will also be art exhibitions and stalls by various shops from the likes of Youngsing Art & Exhibition, Spanky Studio, Saprang, Tony Toyfactory, Choo Choop Jewellery and Charm-Learn Studio. B300 entry gets you one free beer.

ART/GIG: Art in the Garden

The charity exhibition by Art.For.Cancer project features an art workshop by Idea Area Art School, artworks for sale, a live drawing session by local artists, and live performances by Frungfring and Jingjit Brother Music. Part of the proceeds go towards Siriraj, Ramathibodi and the National Cancer Institute Foundations.

ART: Granny Revamps!

The ever-spritely Speedy Grandma is about to turn three years old, and to celebrate they plan to treat us with a series of archival events. This Saturday, Feb 7, sees the opening of Who Cares?, an exhibition by artists who no longer work in the industry, plus the screening of a documentary on all the gallery’s previous exhibitions. There's also a talk called “Money & Labour” on curating an exhibition.

TALKS: New York Bike Style: Book-signing and Talk by Sam Polcer

The hidden gem at Central Embassy Hardcover: The Art Book Shop hosts a book-signing by the auther/photographer of the bestselling book, which will be followed by a talk on his experience photographing riders around the world. The illustrator of 10: A Decade of Illustrations also presents limited signed prints of cyclists.

CONCERT: Sangsom presents Bird Ekachai Jearakul

2014 Guitar Foundation of America International Competition winner Bird Ekachai Jearakul brings together some of the country’s musical cream of the crop such as Burin Grooverider and pop pianist Tor Saksit. The concert at Muang Thai GMM Live House on Feb 7 will also be conducted by Trisdee na Pattalung, who started conducting orchestras in Europe at the age of 18.

SPORTS: Thaicom 10K 2015

There is always a marathon coming up every weekend. The one this Sunday is the second edition of the Rama 8 Bridge race, offerinng various distances, from newbie-friendly walking-running courses for families, under 12s and 13-15 year-old runners, to the youth (16-19yrs old) 5km course to the general 10km course for all. Scholarships to continue race training go to the top five runners (Thai nationals) of each course.

THEATER: Bang-La-Merd: The Land I do not own
