Dempsey favorite The White Rabbit (39C Harding Rd., 6473-9965) has launched a new à la carte menu—just perfect for the festive period. Honestly, the ambiance here is just so inviting I’d pop by randomly to have a dessert anytime if I worked closer to the restaurant, but now you have a good reason to drop by too—spanking new menu items from Executive Chef Daniel Sia. I tried the exceedingly fresh tuna carpaccio ($18), which was a great way to start the meal, as was the delightful Dressed Crab (fresh crab tossed with mayo, tomato jelly and avocadoes, $22). Next up, I had a go at the brochette of roasted sea scallops and crispy pork belly ($19)—a winning surf and turf combination for sure! My appetite raring to go now, I had the scrumptious main—the 48-hour braised short ribs ($32)—conveniently served sans bones, and with a rich Burgundy-style red wine sauce made with bacon and mushrooms. Obviously, these guys saved the best for last—my meal ended with a live demo by my table—of the well-loved Crepe Suzette ($18)! Needless to say, it was the highlight of my crazy week. Soooo good. - Belinda Wan
