Sri Trat may not be bringing in the hottest new crowds or pumping out headlines, but the homey, Michelin-star spot on Soi 33 has been a haven for people who love classic Thai food done well. Now, they’re opening up a new joint in Siam Paragon, due to open in October.

Officially opening Oct 15, Sri’s Room is sticking with the brand’s winning retro style at the new space, recreating the Bangkok of the 1970s and 1980s with a design concept focusing on a tailoring shop.

Found among the city’s chic department stores at Siam Paragon, the menu will feature 70 dishes, and this brand remains one of the few in the city playing up Eastern Thai cuisine, a regional variant that doesn’t get a lot of play on Bangkok’s bigger dining scene.

Upstairs will be Sri’s Table, which will take a break from the a la carte and offer a seasonal chef’s table. The cocktails—which are an underrated feature of the family friendly Sri Trat—will also be inspired by the 1970s, and a press release from the brand says the new space will have a program of live music.

Though Sri Trat has had a reputation for traditional fare and vibes, open on Soi 33 since 2017, the brand has not been idle, taking that same formula to the train car inspired Burapa – Eastern Thai Cuisine & Bar on Sukhumvit 11 in 2017.

From Nontawan “Taam” Chitwattanagorn and Wongwich “Ack” Sripinyo, the brand’s theme comes from a fictional Ms Sri Trat, and each venue is a phase of her life—the flagship Sri Trat her at 42 and confident, Burapa is her at 19 traveling the country, and this new space is modeled on her at 27 first taking flavors from the country to the city.
