Anyone caught singing that Ann-Margret song will be shot at dawn.

Fried chicken fine dining space Birdies will close and rebrand at a new location in Thonglor
21 May, 2026 Bangkok time

Opening in July of 2023, Birdies has had a pretty good run on the Bangkok dining scene—always ready with a new gimmick or celebration. But, all good things, even fried chicken, must come to an end—for a while anyway.

The Birdies crew, helmed by chef-owner Jennifer Evans, announced earlier this month that they’ll officially be closing their doors, so you’ve only got about 10 days left to try the current location.

However, they’ll be opening a new spot at Prime Community Mall Thonglor, this time rebranded as Frickin’ Fried Chicken. The new space, which already has their website live, will still feature Chef Jennifer Evans and co-owner Ratish Sachathamakul’s infectious enthusiasm, and, you guessed it, will be frying up yet more chicken.

The menu at Birdies was always billed as fine dining fried chicken, and while it always still fell on the side of comfort food, it filled a great niche for the Bangkok foodie scene.

At the new spot, you can expect more of their classic wings, but also chicken burgers, wings, and fried pickles. It’s already available on Grab and Lineman.

The brand earned itself a name for both cocktails and fried chicken at the Birdies space, and they always boast an energetic, cool vibe, keeping things fresh with guest shifts and new menu items. Bangkok’s chicken lovers can expect them to open at the end of May, beginning of June. They’ve been quietly working on this spot for over two years.

Bangkok will be sad to see them go, and interested in what they’ll do next.
